This artwork by Ralph Steadman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in March 2018. In the The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer auction, the work De Gaulle Says No sold for GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,554.22) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ralph Steadman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Hunger sold at auction in March 2018 with the realized price of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,981.18).
