Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Suryamukhi by Prodosh Dasgupta was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 8,023.84) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Prodosh Dasgupta have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Broken Idol in October 2015 with an auction result of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 38,465.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Suryamukhi von Prodosh Dasgupta wurde im September 2019 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 8.023,84) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Prodosh Dasgupta auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Broken Idol im Oktober 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 38.465,63).
