Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Egg Bride by Prodosh Dasgupta was sold in the Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2019. Here, the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 20,000.00 (€ 17,812.61). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Prodosh Dasgupta - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Broken Idol, which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 38,465.63).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Egg Bride von Prodosh Dasgupta wurde im März 2019 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 20.000,00 (€ 17.812,61) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Prodosh Dasgupta mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Broken Idol beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 38.465,63) versteigert wurde.
