Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Three Graces by Prodosh Dasgupta. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,132.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Prodosh Dasgupta - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Broken Idol, which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 38,465.63).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Three Graces von Prodosh Dasgupta zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 12.500,00 (€ 11.132,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Prodosh Dasgupta mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Broken Idol beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 38.465,63) versteigert wurde.
