Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Cradle by Prodosh Dasgupta was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2019. The auction ended at the price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 13,359.46), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Prodosh Dasgupta - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Broken Idol, which sold at auction in October 2015 for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 38,465.63).

Die Arbeit Cradle von Prodosh Dasgupta wurde im März 2019 in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 13.359,46) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Prodosh Dasgupta mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Broken Idol beobachtet, die im Oktober 2015 für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 38.465,63) versteigert wurde.
