Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Peter Wegner could be acquired at Christies in New York in October 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints auction, the work Abstract White (1 and 3 Whites) changed hands for USD 1,750.00 (€ 1,544.30) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Peter Wegner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 25 Blues/25 Nights in September 2011 with an auction result of USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,900.22).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Peter Wegner konnte im Oktober 2018 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion The Collection of Melva Bucksbaum: Post-War and Contemporary Art, Photographs and Prints wechselte die Arbeit Abstract White (1 and 3 Whites) für USD 1.750,00 (€ 1.544,30) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Peter Wegner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 25 Blues/25 Nights im September 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.900,22).
