Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Peter Coffin could be acquired at Phillips in London in June 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Untitled (The Act of Drinking Beer with Friends is the Highest Form of Art) changed hands for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,320.17) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Peter Coffin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pirate in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 182,500.00 (€ 140,276.71).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Peter Coffin konnte im Juni 2008 bei Phillips in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Peter Coffin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pirate im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 182.500,00 (€ 140.276,71).
