Auction result well in line with expectations
The work El Ajolote by Pedro Coronel was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 175,000.00 (€ 158,816.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Pedro Coronel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Año 1 luna in March this year with an auction result of USD 693,000.00 (€ 637,417.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit El Ajolote von Pedro Coronel kam im November 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 175.000,00 (€ 158.816,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Pedro Coronel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Año 1 luna im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 693.000,00 (€ 637.417,22).
