Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2020 Bonhams in New York held the auction Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples, which included the work The United States (White) by Paula Scher. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,500.00 – 7,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,700.00 (€ 4,893.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Paula Scher - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Manhattan at Night, which sold at auction in April 2018 for USD 15,000.00 (€ 12,423.39).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Modern & Contemporary Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit The United States (White) von Paula Scher zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.500,00 – 7.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.700,00 (€ 4.893,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Paula Scher mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Manhattan at Night beobachtet, die im April 2018 für USD 15.000,00 (€ 12.423,39) versteigert wurde.
