In June last year Christies in London held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale, which included the work Sitzende nach links by Oskar Schlemmer. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 201,600.00 (€ 234,201.85), 34% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Oskar Schlemmer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tischgesellschaft (Group At Table) in February 2019 with an auction result of GBP 2,595,000.00 (€ 3,027,157.92).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 34 % übertroffen
Im Juni letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Day and Works on Paper Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sitzende nach links von Oskar Schlemmer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 201.600,00 (€ 234.201,85) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Oskar Schlemmer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tischgesellschaft (Group At Table) im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.595.000,00 (€ 3.027.157,92).
