The result of GBP 3,000.00 (€ 4,308.20) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Oliver Clare - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Primroses and apple blossom, a bird's nest with eggs, on a mossy bank; and Grapes, plums, gooseberries, a plum and a strawberry, on a mossy bank, which sold at auction in March 2003 for GBP 9,400.00 (€ 13,617.06).
