Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2008 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures, which included the work Plums, gooseberries, apples, raspberries and pear on a mossy bank; and Grapes, plums, apples and greengages on a mossy bank by Oliver Clare. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,454.68) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Oliver Clare - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Primroses and apple blossom, a bird's nest with eggs, on a mossy bank; and Grapes, plums, gooseberries, a plum and a strawberry, on a mossy bank, which sold at auction in March 2003 for GBP 9,400.00 (€ 13,617.06).

Im März 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Plums, gooseberries, apples, raspberries and pear on a mossy bank; and Grapes, plums, apples and greengages on a mossy bank von Oliver Clare zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.454,68) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Oliver Clare mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Primroses and apple blossom, a bird's nest with eggs, on a mossy bank; and Grapes, plums, gooseberries, a plum and a strawberry, on a mossy bank beobachtet, die im März 2003 für GBP 9.400,00 (€ 13.617,06) versteigert wurde.
