Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Plums and a strawberry; and Grapes, green plums and strawberries by Oliver Clare was sold in the Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures auction at Christies in London in September 2007. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,971.65) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Oliver Clare have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Primroses and apple blossom, a bird's nest with eggs, on a mossy bank; and Grapes, plums, gooseberries, a plum and a strawberry, on a mossy bank in March 2003 with an auction result of GBP 9,400.00 (€ 13,617.06).

Die Arbeit Plums and a strawberry; and Grapes, green plums and strawberries von Oliver Clare wurde im September 2007 in der Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.971,65) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Oliver Clare auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Primroses and apple blossom, a bird's nest with eggs, on a mossy bank; and Grapes, plums, gooseberries, a plum and a strawberry, on a mossy bank im März 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.400,00 (€ 13.617,06).
