Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Number 38 by Morris Louis. The price achieved of USD 2,540,000.00 (€ 2,305,109.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Morris Louis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Floral V, which sold at auction in November last year for USD 5,580,000.00 (€ 5,405,405.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Number 38 von Morris Louis zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.540.000,00 (€ 2.305.109,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Morris Louis mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Floral V beobachtet, die im November letzten Jahres für USD 5.580.000,00 (€ 5.405.405,41) versteigert wurde.
