Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Moving In by Morris Louis was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2021. The price achieved of USD 2,198,000.00 (€ 1,802,525.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,800,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Morris Louis - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Floral V, which sold at auction in November last year for USD 5,580,000.00 (€ 5,405,405.41).
