Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2020 Bonhams in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art, which included the work Pasir Putih (White Sand) by Mochtar Apin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 60,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 69,375.00 (€ 7,600.96) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mochtar Apin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Memecah (Triptych) in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 88,259.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2020 führte Bonhams in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pasir Putih (White Sand) von Mochtar Apin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 60.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 69.375,00 (€ 7.600,96) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mochtar Apin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Memecah (Triptych) im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 88.259,44).
