Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2019 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work Habitant De Sumatra Oriental Sur Une Chaise (Inhabitant Of East Sumatra On A Chair) by Mochtar Apin. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 56,250.00 (€ 6,402.89). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mochtar Apin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Memecah (Triptych) in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 88,259.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2019 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Habitant De Sumatra Oriental Sur Une Chaise (Inhabitant Of East Sumatra On A Chair) von Mochtar Apin zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für HKD 56.250,00 (€ 6.402,89) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mochtar Apin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Memecah (Triptych) im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 88.259,44).
