Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Menyisir (Combing) by Mochtar Apin was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020. The price achieved of HKD 69,300.00 (€ 7,675.54) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 55,000.00 – 75,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mochtar Apin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Memecah (Triptych) in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 88,259.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Menyisir (Combing) von Mochtar Apin wurde im Oktober 2020 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 69.300,00 (€ 7.675,54) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 55.000,00 – 75.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mochtar Apin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Memecah (Triptych) im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 88.259,44).
