Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Women Under The Moon by Mochtar Apin was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in July 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 55,000.00 – 75,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 56,250.00 (€ 6,162.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mochtar Apin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Memecah (Triptych) in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 88,259.44).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Women Under The Moon von Mochtar Apin wurde im Juli 2020 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 55.000,00 – 75.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 56.250,00 (€ 6.162,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mochtar Apin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Memecah (Triptych) im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 88.259,44).
