Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mochtar Apin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2018. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction, the work without title sold for HKD 162,500.00 (€ 18,297.74) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mochtar Apin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Memecah (Triptych) in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 88,259.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mochtar Apin erzielte im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für HKD 162.500,00 (€ 18.297,74) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mochtar Apin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Memecah (Triptych) im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 88.259,44).
