The work Houses by Mochtar Apin was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019. It achieved a price of HKD 112,500.00 (€ 12,805.78), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. Admittedly, works by Mochtar Apin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Memecah (Triptych) in October 2016 with an auction result of HKD 750,000.00 (€ 88,259.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Houses von Mochtar Apin kam im April 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 112.500,00 (€ 12.805,78) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mochtar Apin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Memecah (Triptych) im Oktober 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 750.000,00 (€ 88.259,44).
