Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Delaunay, Goncharova, Popova and Me. by Miriam Schapiro was auctioned at Phillips in New York in April 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,134.00 (€ 942.64). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Miriam Schapiro achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Docking #2 in December 2018 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 76,379.19).
