Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2007 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work La Strada (Passage) by Michael West. The price achieved of USD 4,560.00 (€ 3,446.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael West achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 7 and 8 in May last year with an auction result of USD 176,400.00 (€ 164,383.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2007 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit La Strada (Passage) von Michael West zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.560,00 (€ 3.446,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael West erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 7 and 8 im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 176.400,00 (€ 164.383,56).
