The work Isabella's Two Chairs by Michael Eastman was auctioned at Phillips in New York in April 2014. The auction ended at the price of USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,814.71), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Eastman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Isabella's Two Chairs with Laundry, 2000, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 22,100.00 (€ 28,112.17).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Isabella's Two Chairs von Michael Eastman kam im April 2014 bei Phillips in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 15.000,00 (€ 10.814,71) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Eastman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Isabella's Two Chairs with Laundry, 2000 beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für GBP 22.100,00 (€ 28.112,17) versteigert wurde.
