It achieved a price of USD 13,860.00 (€ 11,900.06), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 39%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael Eastman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Isabella's Two Chairs with Laundry, 2000, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 22,100.00 (€ 28,112.17).

Die Arbeit Fidel'S Last Stairway, Havana von Michael Eastman kam im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 13.860,00 (€ 11.900,06) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 39%. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael Eastman mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Isabella's Two Chairs with Laundry, 2000 beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für GBP 22.100,00 (€ 28.112,17) versteigert wurde.
