Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2008 a collector was able to acquire this work without title by Maureen Gallace for USD 17,500.00 (€ 12,428.09). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Maureen Gallace have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Off of Sunset in March last year with an auction result of USD 63,000.00 (€ 56,792.57).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2008 konnte ein Sammler diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Maureen Gallace für USD 17.500,00 (€ 12.428,09) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Maureen Gallace auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Off of Sunset im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 63.000,00 (€ 56.792,57).
