Auction result misses estimated price range
In October this year a collector was able to acquire the work Missing Link (Lady Liberty), from The Dymaxion Series by Matthew Day Jackson for USD 381.00 (€ 360.52). This price was achieved in the auction Editions & Works on Paper at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matthew Day Jackson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Harriet (Last Portrait) in May 2010 with an auction result of USD 662,500.00 (€ 535,613.23).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Missing Link (Lady Liberty), from The Dymaxion Series von Matthew Day Jackson für USD 381,00 (€ 360,52) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Editions & Works on Paper bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matthew Day Jackson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Harriet (Last Portrait) im Mai 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 662.500,00 (€ 535.613,23).
