Auction result misses estimated price range

In March 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Tammany Ran Vice Without Using It by Matthew Chambers for USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,982.59). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Curated at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Matthew Chambers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Noble Rider & Sound, which sold at auction in May 2014 for USD 28,125.00 (€ 20,619.50).

Im März 2015 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Tammany Ran Vice Without Using It von Matthew Chambers für USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.982,59) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Matthew Chambers mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Noble Rider & Sound beobachtet, die im Mai 2014 für USD 28.125,00 (€ 20.619,50) versteigert wurde.
