Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work Diet Coke by Matt Johnson for USD 4,750.00 (€ 4,255.51). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Curated at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Matt Johnson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Seaweed Sculpture in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 25,700.00 (€ 32,763.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September 2015 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Diet Coke von Matt Johnson für USD 4.750,00 (€ 4.255,51) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Curated bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Matt Johnson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Seaweed Sculpture im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.700,00 (€ 32.763,87).
