Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Paper Ice Cream Cone (upside down) by Matt Johnson for USD 1,375.00 (€ 1,200.24). This price was achieved in the auction Artsy x Phillips: Wrapped/Unwrapped at Phillips in an online auction and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matt Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Seaweed Sculpture in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 25,700.00 (€ 32,763.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Dezember 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Paper Ice Cream Cone (upside down) von Matt Johnson für USD 1.375,00 (€ 1.200,24) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Artsy x Phillips: Wrapped/Unwrapped bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matt Johnson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Seaweed Sculpture im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.700,00 (€ 32.763,87).
