Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2020 a collector was able to acquire the work Readymade by Matt Johnson for USD 2,000.00 (€ 1,813.40). This price was achieved in the auction New Now at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 4,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Matt Johnson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Seaweed Sculpture in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 25,700.00 (€ 32,763.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2020 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Readymade von Matt Johnson für USD 2.000,00 (€ 1.813,40) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion New Now bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Matt Johnson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Seaweed Sculpture im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 25.700,00 (€ 32.763,87).
