In October 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work "Newz!" by Math Bass. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 23,750.00 (€ 26,782.67), 32% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Math Bass - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Newz!, which sold at auction in November 2015 for USD 81,250.00 (€ 76,926.72).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit "Newz!" von Math Bass zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 23.750,00 (€ 26.782,67) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Math Bass mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Newz! beobachtet, die im November 2015 für USD 81.250,00 (€ 76.926,72) versteigert wurde.
