Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Mary Heilmann achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in May 2008. In the Contemporary Art Day Auction auction, the work Manhattan Shuffle sold for USD 169,000.00 (€ 108,611.83) - well above the upper estimate of USD 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mary Heilmann have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Passenger in May last year with an auction result of USD 945,000.00 (€ 880,626.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mary Heilmann erzielte im Mai 2008 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Manhattan Shuffle für USD 169.000,00 (€ 108.611,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 80.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mary Heilmann auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Passenger im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 945.000,00 (€ 880.626,22).
