Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2013 Christies in London held the auction Russian Art, which included the work View Of Mount Ararat From Yerevan by Martiros Sergeevich Saryan. The price achieved of GBP 265,875.00 (€ 310,323.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Martiros Sergeevich Saryan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Poet (On The Foothills Of Aragats), which sold at auction in November 2012 for GBP 623,650.00 (€ 768,273.52).
