Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work In Barfrush, Iran by Martiros Sergeevich Saryan was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 47,500.00 (€ 57,015.50). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martiros Sergeevich Saryan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Poet (On The Foothills Of Aragats) in November 2012 with an auction result of GBP 623,650.00 (€ 768,273.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit In Barfrush, Iran von Martiros Sergeevich Saryan im Juni 2016 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 47.500,00 (€ 57.015,50) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martiros Sergeevich Saryan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Poet (On The Foothills Of Aragats) im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 623.650,00 (€ 768.273,52).
