Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View Of Mount Ararat From Yerevan by Martiros Sergeevich Saryan was auctioned at Christies in June 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 225,000.00 (€ 262,183.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Martiros Sergeevich Saryan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Poet (On The Foothills Of Aragats), which sold at auction in November 2012 for GBP 623,650.00 (€ 768,273.52).
