Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pasiphaë by Martiros Sergeevich Saryan was sold in the Russian Pictures Including Works on Paper by Natalia Goncharova and Mikhail Larionov auction at Sothebys in London in December 2015. It changed hands for a price of GBP 143,000.00 (€ 194,187.13) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Martiros Sergeevich Saryan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Poet (On The Foothills Of Aragats), which sold at auction in November 2012 for GBP 623,650.00 (€ 768,273.52).
