In September 2003 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work The Westertoren seen from a canal, Amsterdam by Martin Monnickendam. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,135.25 26% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Monnickendam achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Het concert: at the concert in April 2005 with an auction result of EUR 13,200.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im September 2003 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Westertoren seen from a canal, Amsterdam von Martin Monnickendam zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.135,25 und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Monnickendam erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Het concert: at the concert im April 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 13.200,00.
