In June 2005 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Pictures Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Greive In Het Concertgebouw, Amsterdam: A Lively Performance by Martin Monnickendam. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,640.00 32% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Martin Monnickendam have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Het concert: at the concert in April 2005 with an auction result of EUR 13,200.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 32 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2005 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Pictures Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Greive In Het Concertgebouw, Amsterdam: A Lively Performance von Martin Monnickendam zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.640,00 und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martin Monnickendam auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Het concert: at the concert im April 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 13.200,00.
