The work Arriving at the ball by Martin Monnickendam was sold in the Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings auction at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2006. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,560.00 73% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Martin Monnickendam have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Het concert: at the concert in April 2005 with an auction result of EUR 13,200.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 73 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Arriving at the ball von Martin Monnickendam wurde im Januar 2006 in der Auktion Pictures, Watercolours and Drawings bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.560,00 und damit 73% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martin Monnickendam auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Het concert: at the concert im April 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 13.200,00.
