In March 2011 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now, Art from the 19th, 20th and the 21st Centuries, which included the work Pierrot by Martin Monnickendam. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,000.00 33% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Martin Monnickendam have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Het concert: at the concert in April 2005 with an auction result of EUR 13,200.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 33 % übertroffen
Im März 2011 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Nineteen to Now, Art from the 19th, 20th and the 21st Centuries durch, in der auch die Arbeit Pierrot von Martin Monnickendam zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.000,00 und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martin Monnickendam auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Het concert: at the concert im April 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 13.200,00.
