Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art, which included the work Het Duo; two women in an interior by Martin Monnickendam. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 8,750.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Martin Monnickendam have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in April 2005 the work Het concert: at the concert was auctioned for EUR 13,200.00.
