Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Martin Maloney could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Daydreamer changed hands for USD 1,000.00 (€ 890.63) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Maloney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled Portrait (Jerry) in February 2007 with an auction result of USD 20,400.00 (€ 15,419.50).
