Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Martin Maloney could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Art Online | New York auction, the work The Return Of The Prodigal Son changed hands for USD 1,375.00 (€ 1,246.71) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Maloney achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled Portrait (Jerry) in February 2007 with an auction result of USD 20,400.00 (€ 15,419.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Martin Maloney konnte im März 2020 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Art Online | New York wechselte die Arbeit The Return Of The Prodigal Son für USD 1.375,00 (€ 1.246,71) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Maloney erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled Portrait (Jerry) im Februar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 20.400,00 (€ 15.419,50).
