Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Adoration of the Magi by Martin Maloney was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Auction auction at Christies in London in October 2014. The price achieved of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 6,384.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Martin Maloney - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled Portrait (Jerry), which sold at auction in February 2007 for USD 20,400.00 (€ 15,419.50).
