Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Work No. 251 (THINGS) by Martin Creed was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in October this year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 21,702.45) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Martin Creed have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Work No. 204: Half the air in a given space in March 2012 with an auction result of USD 158,500.00 (€ 118,869.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Work No. 251 (THINGS) von Martin Creed wurde im Oktober diesen Jahres in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.900,00 (€ 21.702,45) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martin Creed auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Work No. 204: Half the air in a given space im März 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 158.500,00 (€ 118.869,06).
