Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Work No. 3396 by Martin Creed was sold in the Heatwave: Online Auction auction at Phillips in 19 - in September this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,016.00 (€ 1,016.00) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Martin Creed achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Work No. 204: Half the air in a given space in March 2012 with an auction result of USD 158,500.00 (€ 118,869.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Work No. 3396 von Martin Creed wurde im September diesen Jahres in der Auktion Heatwave: Online Auction bei Phillips in 19 - versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.016,00 (€ 1.016,00) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Martin Creed erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Work No. 204: Half the air in a given space im März 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 158.500,00 (€ 118.869,06).
