Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Martin Boyce could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online auction, the work 1056 Endless Heights changed hands for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,668.54) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Martin Boyce have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in March 2017 with an auction result of GBP 40,000.00 (€ 46,876.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Martin Boyce konnte im Juli 2020 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online wechselte die Arbeit 1056 Endless Heights für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.668,54) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Martin Boyce auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 40.000,00 (€ 46.876,05).
