Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Martin Boyce achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in March 2019. In the The George Michael Collection Online Auction auction, the work Ventilation Grills (Our Breath and This Breeze) sold for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,311.72) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Martin Boyce - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in March 2017 for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 46,876.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Martin Boyce erzielte im März 2019 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The George Michael Collection Online Auction wurde die Arbeit Ventilation Grills (Our Breath and This Breeze) für GBP 17.500,00 (€ 20.311,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Martin Boyce mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im März 2017 für GBP 40.000,00 (€ 46.876,05) versteigert wurde.
