Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Zosimus Offers A Cloak To Mary The Egyptian by Mark Tansey was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Afternoon Session auction at Christies in New York in May 2019. The price achieved of USD 30,000.00 (€ 26,908.24) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mark Tansey achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Source Of The Loue in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 7,453,600.00 (€ 6,386,975.15).
